MAKUM Opening and Closing Ceremony

Date: 6th and 8th of August 2010
Venue: CAC Main Hall


This time, the Angklung Club presented the younger members of the club to perform in the national event "Pesta Pantun MAKUM". Eleven members played upbeat "Madu dan Racun" and "Ketipang Payung" for the opening ceremony.
While the others who performed for the closing ceremony showed their skill playing the remix version of "Tahajud Cinta", "Dawatee Ibrahim" and "Sayyidi Maulai" which was performed during IPAC "Love Is" 2010.
Both performances were conducted by Cikgu Ku Zahir.

Intermahallah cultural and debate week Show

Venue: CAC Main Hall

13 Angklung members rocked the hall with 'Bujang Lapok' after a speech from IIUM rector in the closing ceremony of Intermahallah Cultural and Debate Week. Conducted by Pak Dadang, the evergreen song was performed without the help of partitur.
The performance had also include the use of 'angklung berdiri', played by Sister Nurasikin. A collaboration with Percussion Club, this is our first performance at CAC this semester.
The event had also include performances from Zapin Club and Ummul Qura'.
After the event, performers had a meal of Western dinner.

IAC Induction Day

IAC members started to crowd Econs cafe at 7 in the morning. They were served with light breakfast of sandwiches and hot tea. Right after the meal, members; divided into groups joined an aerobic session conducted by the committees. The session was followed by talks by the mainboard and briefing by the head committees. Group activities was sequenced right after according to the earlier division. IAC trainer, Pak Dadang was then given a moment to talk about angklung and its cultural background before lunch and solat break.

The catering committees has also served lunch to the participating members. The program commenced at 2 with in-group activities where the members were asked to choose a group name, and create a cheer and a trademark for their group; then present it to other groups. There were mini games  just before the members disperse for prayers and prepare for the night's cultural show.

The cultural show was very much entertaining although they were given very short time to prepare. Right after a mini game, dinner was ready and members were ushered to the nearby cafe for dinner. The prize giving was held during dinner; well, everybody has their share.

The program ended roughly at 11. A post mortem was held right after.
