Cultural Night Taaruf Week Sem 1, 2013/2014

Assalamualaikum dear lovely readers.

We come back with the collaboration show for cultural night Taaruf Week Semester 1, 2013/2014. This event has been involved by 11 cultural clubs which are Angklung, Acoustic Band, Percussion, Andeka Caklempong, Gamelan, Nasyeed, Theathre, Poetry, Zapin, Dikir Barat, and CPC. First of all, welcome to the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue to all new students. As being scheduled, the cultural night is on 8th September 2013. So, our members who will perform on that night have come back to IIUM on 30th September 2013 to start the training. We have been trained by Sis Intaz Syafinaz Sazali, Sis Dian Elisatun Nadhiyah, Sis Najihah, Bapak Dadang, and Cikgu Ku Zahir who personally train us for our new song, Can't Take My Eyes Off You. Alhamdulillah, we managed to perform Song of Do Re Mi and Can't Take My Eyes Off You (collaborate with IIUM Acoustic Band). Another three songs collaborated by all music-based clubs are Overture, Santubong and Symphony 40.

Conference Engineering + International Model of OIC

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Ramadhan Kareem to dear readers. We would like to have a short update about another two performance for this month, July 2013. The first show is on 2nd July 2013 at Hotel Berjaya Times Square. We performed for dinner of Conference Engineering. This event has been organized by Kuliyyah of Engineering (KOE), IIUM.

The next two days which is on 4th July 2013, we have been invited to perform during dinner of International Model of OIC. The dinner was held in Main Hall, Cultural Activity Centre (CAC).  Basically, there are four performances on that night. Angklung was the one who performed first then followed by Arab Unity Group, Guinea students group and another performance from deligates. 

As for overall, we get positive feedback from the audiences and they really enjoy the performance. Thank you very much to the organisers for inviting us. That's all for this update. Stay tune with us!

Majlis Hi-Tea "Sentuhan Qalbu"

Alhamdulillah all praises to Allah. Angklung team has again been invited to perform during this short semester, which is in Hi-tea “Sentuhan Qalbu” Masjid Al Falah. This has been held in Dewan Orkid, Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Selangor, Wisma PKPS on 29^th June 2013 (20 Sya’ban 1434H).  This program has been organized by Biro Muslimat Masjid Al Falah as one way to collect fund and strengthen the ukhuwah among the members of Qariah.

We performed in three slots. For the first slot, we performed Medley Ketipang Payung & Joget Pahang and continue the second slot with Tuhan. Before all the guests leave the events, we performed for the third slot. We played all the ten songs that we used to practised along the week. The songs was the same as the ten songs that we performed for Floria at Putrajaya.

We really thank the nice and friendly committee of this Hi-Tea and also a bunch of appreciation to Dato' Sri Haji Syed Zainal Abidin bin Syed Mohamed Tahir as the Nazir of Masjid Al-Falah, USJ 9 for his concern dan high interest in our performance. Thank you.

FLORIA @ Putrajaya

Assalamualaikum.

On 22^nd June 2013, our team has been invited to perform at an annual event called “Floria” which is held at Laman Seni Putrajaya, Presint 2. The theme for this year is “Orchid”. There are 25 performers; 20 angklungians and 5 percussionists which performed ten songs on that that. The songs that are being performed by our team are:

Taaruf Week Show Sem 2, 2012/2013

Assalamualaikum lovely readers!

On 1st February 2013, we performed in the Taaruf Week cultural night Semester 2, 2012/2013. 20 Angklung members participated in this show. We started our training on 25th January 2013 and the first two days of training was quite hectic but the following days the training has been really effective. During traning session, we also do some other activities like group binding. Yeah, it's so fun!! We went to Wangsa Walk and half of us go to Manhattan. We played bowling and  had a lunch together. These activities have strengthen the ukhuwah among the members.

This show was held in Main Auditorium since the Cultural Activity Centre's  hall will be used for wedding on the next day. It was an exciting show because this time, the theme for this show is " Malay's Wedding ". On that night we performed two songs which are: Kopi Dangdut and Medley Ketipang. A bunch of thanks to IIUM Percussion Club for accompanying us for these songs. For the collabration with other clubs, we performed Symphony 40 medley Puteri Santubong. Smphony 40 is a fast song. Alhamdulillah, the performers managed to play it well :) Congratulations!

There are a lots of improvement during this show. The attendance and punctuality has improved. The best thing during this show is the performers did not use patitur and have a better showmanship. Keep up the good work guys! Last of all, thanks to the trainers; Bapak Dadang and Kak Jiha. Not to forget our adorable PIC, Sis Munirah Aziz.

Convest Week 2012 Show (IIUM Wonderworld + STABAZ)

              Assalamualaikum our dear readers.. =) Actually, this post should be posted one month ago,hehe..but due to the ‘busyness’, its been postponed, postponed, and postponed until the so called today.hihi..

               Okay, enough of bluffing..just to update our performances on STABAZ and CONVEST 2012..they were 20 of us take part in the shows and the same members perform on both STABAZ and CONVEST. On STABAZ we played about 6 songs overall..we performed at the Expressive Corner near HS café and the performance received a big applause from the audience, Alhamdulillah =)

                However, our performance on CONVEST was quite bad?huhu..=( We played 3 songs on that night. One of it is Cindai by Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza..The CONVEST closing ceremony started quite late from it scheduled to be..so, we have to wait for quite awhile on the stage.huhu..okay,enough to that point only.the rest is history..

               By the way, thanks to IIUM Percussion Club for accompanied us in both shows.. =)  Hmm, we can’t imagine how angklung will perform without the percussion? Because we cannot..hihi..Thanks a lot guys!

Taaruf Week Cultural Night Sem 1 2012/2013

Assalamualaikum dear readers!

Well, its not to late to welcome our juniors of IIUM, Good Luck! Wishes you all success and excellence in your studies! :) Amin,

Okay,

So the day of the Cultural Night of Taaruf Week is on last Friday, 7th September 2012. Yet, we started our training on 3rd September 2012. Right at 2 pm, we gathered the whole 16 members and start to practice for Pandang-pandang Jeling-jeling, Jalur Gemilang and Selamat Hari Raya. Not to forget, Santubong.

For about two days we practice by ourselves, on 5th September 2012, we joined with performers from other clubs to timed and full rehearse. By then, they decided we had two slots to fill in, then the song chosen was Jalur Gemilang and Selamat Hari Raya consecutively. And yes, it is because of the theme for that night was Merdeka Raya! 

On the D-day, we put on our ‘Baju Raya’ instead of Angklung’s and we also have Malaysian flag sticks at our patitur’s stand! Well, who would forget this iconic Songkok! Yeah,That’s the spirit! haha

Our first slot were right after percussion, Jalur Gemilang! Merah mu bara semangat waja, eh. Haha

 Next slot, Selamat Hari Raya!

Then we waited for our last performance, performance along with other clubs as Gamelan, Caklempong, Band and Percussion for the end of the night show, with the great impact we start to play Santubong harmonically. Thats the end of the night! WOW! With Alhamdulillah the show end around 11 pm.

Pesta Pantun MAKUM 2012

Assalamualaikum guys!

Next performance is for the opening ceremony for Pesta Pantun MAKUM at Banquet, CAC IIUM. This ceremony was held on 27 April 2012 at 8.45 pm, during the guest having dinner.

We perform together with the percussionist for Pandang-pandang Jeling-jeling, My Way, Bungo Jeumpo and Ada Apa Denganmu.

 

Thank You for our conductor, Bapak Dadang and our PIC Hidayah for your commitment and hardwork and not to forget angklung members and brothers and sisters of percussionists.

Projek Mega Mahasiswa 1 Malaysia Dinner

Assalamualaikum readers!

This time, Project Mega Mahasiswa 1 Malaysia has invited IIUM Angklung Club to perform in their Closing Ceremony event. It was located at Main Hall, CAC on 21 April 2012, Saturday.

Our performance start at 9.00 pm which is during the guest having dinner. The performance was run smoothly, playing several song such Madu Racun, Getaran Jiwa, Bujang Lapok, My Way, and Rasa Sayang. 

And of course, as always, our performance completed with the help of of our conductor plus beloved trainer, Bapak Dadang Soleh and percussionists from IIUM Percussion Club.

Not to forget our senior, sis Najihah and PIC for this show, Dian Elisatun Nahdhiyah, Thank You for your hardwork!

Since the majority of the performer was junior, the practice was held more often within one week. Overall, everything was in order, but punctuality need to be improved. 

The audience enjoyed the show as well as the performers. Many of the performers expressed their gladness toward this program. At the end, it strengthens the brotherhood among Angklung members, percussion and others.

InterMahallah Cultural Week 2012

Assalamualaikum dear readers!

On Sunday, 11 March 2012, Angklung Club has been invited to perform for the Closing Ceremony Inter Mahallah Cultural Week. The ceremony has been held at River side from 8.30 pm until 12.00 p.m

 

The members played 3 songs which are Padamu Ku Bersujud, Kau Yang Satu and Desa Tercinta. With the conductor of Cikgu Ku Zahir Ku Ahmad, they played well.

 

Overall, they enjoyed the performance. The performance was run smoothly but audiences are complained that they cannot hear the angklung sound. This might due to the lack of microphone provided by the organizer. Maybe, for the next time the PIC every show should let the organizer know that angklung need specific microphone.

Invention & Creativity Convention (ICC)

 

Assalamualaikum, Hello guys! :)

On 8th March, 2012, Thursday, we perform for Innovation and Creativity Convention (ICC) closing ceremony, at Main Hall, CAC.

 

The conductor for this performance is our beloved trainer Bapak Dadang and the PIC of this show sis Wan Nabilah.

We perform 3 songs which is joget pahang, cindai, and rindu bayangan. Bapak Dadang has changed the arrangement of the Joget Pahang song which make percussionists having a little difficulty to adjust with Angklung sound. Having more training with them will make a better performance in the future.

Halal Fair 2012

HALAL FOOD FAIR PERFORMANCE

 

Assalamualaikum everyone!

On 1^ST March at 12.30-1.00 pm, Angklung Club delivered 6 songs for Halal Food Fair, which are enjit-enjit semut, rasa sayang, iktiraf, edel weiss, rindu bayangan, and joget pahang. We had our own slot and were accompanied by the Percussion Club.

The performance were take place at CAC main hall. The performers are comprises with both junior and senior. The performance goes quite well eventhough there are some lacking for 1 or 2 song.

 The feedback receive from the PIC of the programme is also good.

The person in charges for this show is Ahmad Zaki and the conductor is Najihah Tahir. Thank you for your commitment!
