AGM/AGD 2011/2012

This annual event was held at 30th November 2012 at Seminar Room Cultural Activity Centre (CAC). The theme for that night is "Retro Gets Alive!". Everybody was very pretty and smart with their "retro'' outfits.
The Retro King and Queen for that night is Br Syahmi and Sis Dian. After the dissolution of current tenure, Br. Haris has announced the new mainboard. Sis Wan Nabilah has been chosen as the new President for session 2012/2013. Here are her speech on that lovely night:

Salam to all Angklung-ians..

First of all, I would like to say congratulation and thank you to the organizing committees for successfully organized lovely and wonderful AGM/AGD 2011/2012. 

Thank you to previous tenure to have chosen me to be the President next tenure Angklung. I am honored to have been chosen to lead this wonderful club that I love. From assistant secretary become a President, I have to admit that I can not lead this club alone, I will definitely need all your help and assistance (undergraduate members, postgraduate member, current and previous board, alumni, Bapak Dadang) to take our club to the next level. To all new tenure, congratulation and I look forward to working with all of you for the next one year.

Angklung's Induction Day 2012

Assalamualaikum dears, Hai!

Its been a week now, sorry for the late update about our Induction Day, huhu okay now, fyi, Angklung’s hold an interview for new memberships on 24th September 2012 and just last week on Saturday 30th September 2012, we did an Induction Day for juniors! The main objective is OF COURSE to get to know each other, yeah well, were going to be a one big family from now on. So its a MUST!

We start the day at 7.00 am by registration of all participants at cafe’s of Kuliyyah Economics. Within an hour, the participants registered and have their breakfast. By 8.00 am, we start the event with Doa’ recitation by bro Nidhal, and followed by Aerobic Session with bro Syahmi and bro Bakhtiar.

Haha, yeah! I can see it, everyone having fun! (including our committees)

Then, by 8.30 am the participants had an ice breaking event, which they played games such as ‘Bom’.

Next, Group Binding session, which the participants are given their groups and start to make a group’s name, their leaders, their cheers and etc.

 

Yeah, on Telematch, they participants gets to play ‘Radio Rosak’, ‘7 Botol’ , ‘Belalai Gajah’ and ‘Sign Nama’. 

Later, on 11.15 am, we rest for a while for ‘minum pagi’. After about half an hour, we start again by introducing main boards of Angklung to our juniors, and also talk a bit about Angklung, its origin, how to play it: Hoping our juniors, would listen it well and can practice greatly in  the future. :)

For 12.50 pm – 2.30 pm, we rest a bit, eating lunch, and did our Zohor prayer. Then by 2.30 pm, the main event of Induction Day, Explorace, its about to start. We did briefing for about 15 minutes. Good Luck!

Meanwhile, Catering’s committess start to make BBQ’s. Yummy!

The explorace end, and the participants yet again, given job to make a cultural event that night, hehe were sorry for you alls but yet its your day guys!  Cultural Night! We start at 8.30 pm at the same place, having dinner while watching nasyeed, pantun, and also acting.

By the end of the Cultural Night, we’ve given prize to our winners. Congrats winners, Team kuih Apam! Haha 

With that, Alhamdulillah, our Induction Day, end by 10.00 pm, Thank you to all the people’s involved, committees, participants, and not to forget, our beloved super seniors, who came on that day to support.

International visit from SMK Negeri 1 Bandung

Assalamualaikum! :)

Here we are with our report about the international visit from SMK Negeri 1 Bandung Indonesia. Yeah, its a great experience to make new friends and get the experience to actually learn from another team of angklung players.

By 8.30pm, we start the ceremony by opening remarks by master of ceremony and doa recitation.

 Then speeches by our beloved trainer, Bapak Dadang, Kak Liza, and also SMK Negeri 1 Bandung representative.

Our president Haris give his speech along with Multimedia presentation.

Next we have performance by our visitors. Wow! That was a great performance. And what most aghast, they did not need ‘patitur’ as a reference and yet they are still great!

 Then, visitors visit to IIUM Angklung Club training room,

 Istana Andeka Caklempong,

IIUM Gamelan and Acoustic Band training room.

After  they got back from visiting the training rooms, souvenirs giving ceremony!

By roughly around 11.10 pm closing remark, supper and by disperse. But not to forget, last memory of Angklung members with the visitors,

IIUM Angklung Busking Day

Dear Readers, Assalamualaikum!

On 6th May 2012, as we published earlier, IIUM Angklung Club were holding a busking tour from Dataran Maybank, Lot 10 and lastly at Sungei Wang Plaza. So here lets read our story.

At about 6.30 am, the committees and the performers gathered at Angklung's Training Room to make sure the preparations for this busking is running smoothly. And surely, we had our breakfast, a breakfast is needed before you start your day especially on a day like this. It will be an extremely busy day.  

and yet, we still have time for pictures.

We went to Dataran Maybank with public transport, firstly by bus from IIUM (which we have to run for the bus, yup! in the early morning of sunday, which maybe people will think we have some kind of explorace game) and then by LRT from Gombak to Bangsar.

   

Around 9.15am, perform at Dataran Maybank

Next, we head to .... (just across the road of the Dataran Maybank)

you give us the fighting spirits, we hope you enjoyed with our performance!

Then, for about 1.15 pm, we head for lunch!

After the lunch and prayer, straightly we have our next performance in front of Sungei Wang Plaza.

Yeah! that was the performance that drained us mentally and physically, yet we can still smile peacefully and happily, cause we did really enjoyed through out the performance, hoping you all did too!

Traditional Games Competition

Assalamualaikum everyone!

Sorry for the late update this report event, firstly i want to thank all member of cultural clubs either who joined us on 15th April 2012 for the traditional games competition and also those who support from 'room', haha. ^^,

Really bunch of thank you, without you alls our programme cannot be

proceed.

So, we started with the registration at 8 a.m and the committees given out breakfast to the participants.

Then, we have briefing, warming up session and doa's recitation.

Opening Games.For team, games ‘rebut negeri’(brothers),

’galah panjang’ (sisters),


  

                                                   and individual games; ‘batu seremban’

Next, we combine the brothers and sister in 1 team, and we had 'Lari Dalam Guni', 'Baling Selipar', while on the other side, for the individual games, now they proceed to 'Dam' game.

Later, they played 'Tarik Upih' for the team; and 'Congkak' for the individual game.

Lastly, Prize Giving Ceremony to participants. At 1p.m the event ends with given out lunch to all participants.

We from the committee of Traditional Games Competition wants to apologize for our mistakes throughout the event. We take this as the to do the best for the very next programme, Thank you! ^^,

 Masquerade Theme

The event was held at Colosseum of Engine. The place was decorated beautifully, plus there were rose petals and small candles on each table! So romantic..! =P
Each member came with a mask on their face. It creates such a mystery.hehe...because there are some members that were hardly to recognize when they have their mask on.

Convert Song Competition

Salam everybody ^^

Our T-Dev bureau had organized a 'convert song competition' on last 23rd of October. The participants were the seniors only because our juniors  haven't finish their theory class syllabus yet. There'll be money for the winners. RM50 for the 1st place, followed by RM30 and RM20 for the 2nd and 3rd place.

So, what was the song that going to be converted? It was Baby by Justin Bieber..! Actually, FYI.. I had known in advance that it's gonna be this song.hihi..but don't worry, I'm not one of the participants anyway..=)

Plus, the judges said they already know who's the winner! Wohoo! but, still..it's a secret. So, do wait for the next entry to know who's the winner. Ok? Bubbye..see yaa..

Charity Days [Rumah Penyayang Nur Iman]

Salam..hello guys! We had organized a charity programme for the orphanage at Rumah Penyayang Nur Iman, Setapak on the 1st & 2nd of October. On the first day, we had the day and night sessions. In the morning, we decided to help the nannies by doing some chores while the kids are away. And at night we performed our congregational prayer + tahlil recitation with the kids. After that, we had a dinner together and played a few songs with our angklungs. The kids were enjoyed and singing together..

On the second day, we brought them to the Planetarium. We reached at their house around 7.50 am. After assigning 2 kids for each one of us to take care of, we depart to planetarium by riding a bus. We organized some outdoor games for the kids while waiting for the planetarium to be opened. We spent the whole day at planetarium, exploring and getting new knowledge from there. After sent the kids home, we reached at IIUM around 5pm..

It was a memorable days for us yet a tiring days too.. it's not easy dealing with kids anyway. Fighting, crying, sulking, running here and there are their staple diets..It surely requires you high of patience and tolerance.. This programme really did gave us some overview of parents to be i guess.. ^^

INDUCTION [session 2011/2012]

    Salam...^^ 

               

                 On 25th of September, Angklung Club held an induction for the new intakes. Our main purpose of this programme is to consolidate the ukhuwah between seniors and juniors in our club. The induction starts at 7.30 a.m at KENMS and end around 11pm. 

                 Our first activity of the day was aerobics. After that, we played some games for the ice breaking session and followed by telematch. The groups were divided by colors and each were given a name according to fish name. We also invited Kak Liza from S-Dev to give some speech. For the afternoon session, we conducted explorace around the KENMS, AIKOL and library. 

                 At night, we enjoyed ourselves  by doing cultural night. Every groups has been given a special task to be performed at the night. All of the groups had given a fun and great performance. Lastly, we close up our programme by having a prize giving and photography session. Even though it was a tiring day, but all of us having so much fun and we hope that our ukhuwah will remain till the end..amiin...
